Cycle through the Zuunbeek Valley from the Kesterheide in Gooik to the beautiful city center of Halle and St. Martin’s Basilica. Do you see the mysterious white “spheres” on the Kesterheide? One of NATO’s largest communications stations. The Paddenbroek Rural Center at the foot of the Kesterheide has been encased in glass, a remarkable architectural feat. The route also takes you past a few lesser-known heritage gems, such as the Bree-Eik Farm, the Coudenborre Spring, and Saffelberg Castle, and you can enjoy tastings at the Sako Brewery or De Cam Geuze Distillery.
