Island hopping on the castle pond
Ever walked through a rainforest? And immediately afterwards in the desert or savannah? In the Plant Palace it is possible, it is the largest greenhouse complex in Europe and you will find the whole world of plants under glass. Adventure beckons outside as well: you can island hop on the castle pond, go on an investigation in the Wood Lab, or step into the Green Ark where endangered and almost unique plant species survive.

On a quest through museum spaces
Go for a walk, bike or run along the rippling ponds, followed by a picnic on the waterfront. Then set off on a quest to the African continent, through the museum galleries of the AfricaMuseum. AfricaMuseumQuest is a fun guessing and puzzle game. Afterglow can be enjoyed in The Foyer of De Warandepoort visitor center, where large touch screens guide you through the region. Still feel like a walk in the woods? A few minutes of walking or pedaling will take you to the Sonian Forest, the largest beech forest in the country!

Cool playgrounds with climbing towers, climbing frames, swings and - if that's not enough - a large forest. In the monumental rock garden you imagine yourself in the mountains for a moment, with mountain stream and all. Fancy a hug? A whole cuddle collection of sheep, goats and rabbits is waiting for you. The Brabantine draft horses like to show their horsepower, sometimes even pulling a covered wagon through the domain. Fancy a ride? Or rather race the mini cars, pedal the pedal boats or play a game of mini golf?

Park Three Fountains
The Central Park of Vilvoorde
This is not just any city park: Park Drie Fonteinen is a mere 50 hectares in size. Vilvoorde's Central Park, but older and more elegant. It took three castle estates. Here and there you will find historic buildings, such as the orangery where you can enjoy a delicious meal. Visit the animal pasture and romp in the playground, its entrance flanked by two lions that used to stand at the main entrance of the domain.
