When Baron Filips Taye converted a medieval castle into a castle of pleasure in 1649, he could never have imagined that his mansion still serves as Wemmel's beautiful town hall today. It is surrounded by a beautiful castle park with ponds. The presbytery is also one of the most beautiful in our province, housing the Academy for Music, Word and Dance.
For nature, head to the Beaver Woods, a surprisingly quiet spot just off the Ring. The swampy deciduous forest is home to brown frogs, toads and various newts. The Beverbos walk of 5.6 km takes you past the most beautiful corners. Children can expend their energy in Speelbos De Motte, a green play paradise and home to a rare species of grasshopper.
