Zaventem with the cloak of love
The Gothic St. Martin's Church had a Romanesque precursor, but it is mainly within the church walls that the real treasures can be found. The highlight of the rich interior is the painting of St. Martin sharing his cloak, a work by Baroque painter Anthony van Dyck.
Hikers follow the Master Craps Walk, between Sterrebeek and Tervuren. There you step past vast fields, the old hippodrome - now a golf school - and the cheerful children's playground of Hof ter Heide farmstead. In the center, you'll find some listed houses from 1609, built by order of Ferdinand de Boisschot, baron of Zaventem.
