Just in the shadow of the Tienen Sugar Factory, you’ll find the ruins of the Paterskerk. The country’s second-oldest beguinage church was destroyed by fire in 1976. From here, you can walk into the countryside toward Bost and Goetsenhoven. Admire the elegant Ast Castle and step inside the Chapel of Our Lady of the Stone. A quick prayer here is said to relieve headaches, nervous disorders, and all sorts of ailments.
