Amid the greenery of the Molenbeek Valley, you’ll come to the Herisem Mill, a gem of industrial archaeology and one of the best-preserved examples of the region’s once-thriving paper and cardboard industry. The 19th-century complex evolved from the old 16th-century paper mill, and all the machinery remained untouched after the factory closed in 140. The historic Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk in Beersel also has a remarkable history and is definitely worth a visit.
