Take a walk from Sint-Martens-Bodegem to Sint-Ulriks-Kapelle and back, through a landscape that, before 1950, was still dominated by fields of hop poles. Back then, every brewery had its own hop fields. At Huisje Mostinckx, you can relive those glory days of hop cultivation; the small building, constructed in authentic half-timbered and adobe style, is a charming regional museum. You’ll pass by the Girardin lambic brewery, which has been run by the Girardin family since 1882.
Before you set out: Follow the virtual waypoints or the hexagonal signs labeled “Hoppewandeling.” You can shorten the walk to 8.6 km or 4.8 km.
