From the wine village of Wezemaal, you’ll climb the Wijngaardberg, winding your way through the grapevines and past the windbreak made of Diestian iron sandstone that protects the vines from harsh winds. The view over the Hageland is breathtaking. Back in the village, be sure to visit the neo-Gothic former town hall, which now houses the Hageland Wine Visitor Center. And next to the church, you’ll find the Norbertine rectory from 1624, complete with a moat and a beautifully landscaped garden.
