At the Forest Museum Jan van Ruusbroec in Groenendaal, you step into the story of the Sonian Forest. The museum is housed in a historic tenant farm of the old priory of Groenendaal. Through models, maps, scale models and nature collections, you will learn about fauna, flora and forest management. In the Spanish Hall, the rich history of the forest and its abbeys is also discussed. Thanks to its location on the edge of the forest, the museum is an ideal starting point for walks and bike rides through Flanders' largest deciduous forest.

Opening hours
The Forest Museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday, from 1 pm to 5 pm, and on Sundays from 10 am.
From 1 April to 1 November, it is also open on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10 am.
