You will never forget the spring carpet of millions of purple wood hyacinths of the Hallerbos. It seems like a magical landscape. Hiking trails wind past old beech trees, open valleys and quiet forest rooms. Among the spring greenery, other bloomers also pop up, such as wood anemones and wild daffodils. With any luck, you might even spot a fire salamander. The 552-hectare forest is a remnant of the ancient Coal Forest.
