As if it stepped straight out of a painting. The Castle of Groot-Bijgaarden was built around 1640 in a pure Flemish Renaissance style. It is picturesquely situated in the green, with a wide moat and ancient beech trees surrounding it. An elegant bridge with five arches leads you across the water to the gatehouse with round corner towers. Every spring, the estate takes on an extra dimension during Floralia, when millions of spring flowers transform the park into a colorful spectacle.

The estate is open to visitors only during the Floralia Brussels flower show, from 3 April to 3 May 2026: open daily from 10.00 to 18.00.
