Alsemberg's Church of Our Lady has been a place of devotion and history for centuries. What began as a simple little chapel in the 12th century grew into a late Gothic church and an important place of pilgrimage in the 14th century. Noble visitors such as Philip the Good and Charles V also visited, which earned the church the title "ducal". Inside, admire a 12th-century Romanesque baptismal font and the gilded devotional statue of Our Lady. The slender spire did not appear until the 19th century.
