The stars, planets and distant galaxies come very close at People's Observatory MIRA. On the observation terrace, you can peer deep into the cosmos through powerful stargazers, while the planetarium lucidly explains complex astronomical stories. MIRA is the oldest popular observatory in Belgium, founded in 1967 by the Norbertine Godfried Pieraerts. In addition to regular visits, you can come here for stargazing evenings, lectures, courses and so on.
Practical
Group visits of 15 people or more are possible every day (except Sundays and holidays) by appointment.
Every second Friday of the month there is a multimedia show for families with children. Every last Friday of the month there is a scientific lecture. Always starting at 7 pm. Reservations are not required.
Free visit possible every Wednesday from 2 to 6 pm, during Astroclubs or by appointment.
