Paul and An Vleminckx were inspired and guided by specialists from the Champagne region when they planted 21,000 vines of chardonnay on the edge of Meerdaal Forest in Oud-Heverlee in 1994. Their goal? To make a quality sparkling wine according to the méthode traditionnelle. This succeeded so well that their wine estate now has 60,000 vines. The Chardonnay Meerdael is a refined sparkling wine with fresh acidity and a bright, pale yellow color.
