It all started with a final horticultural work of their son Pieter, who planted about fifty vines on Chartreuzenberg. Herman and Gerda also got the wine bug and planted several hundred more vines in 2003. Today, the 1,200 vines produce white, red and rosé wines, as well as sparkling wine and rosé sparkling wine. The winemakers work with resistant varieties such as regent, reberger and johanniter and keep the vineyard weed-free through mechanical tillage, without pesticides.
