At the highest point of the Houwaart mountain, Joris Eeckhout planted his first 700 vines in 2015, a similar number in 2016. In 2017, he purchased an additional plot with vines from 1973 Müller Thürgau. Joris puts a strong emphasis on biodiversity in his vineyard, with a flower meadow, pool and natural water purification. Weed management is done manually and mechanically, without herbicides.
