La dolce vita in the Hageland vineyards

Hotel Pluimpapaver is a cosy hotel hidden in the sloping green landscape of the Hageland. Hostess Jasmina Loots and her husband Hans literally give you a taste of their region. "Love for the Hageland goes through the stomach," she smiles. That's why, if you make a reservation, she puts together a delicious regional menu for her guests. Including sheep cheese from Het Nijswolkje in Aarschot, meat from 't Hoevezwijntje in Rillaar, and of course a glass of Hageland wine.

White and red

"Not just with it, also ín the food," Jasmina adds. "Try my fish sauce based on white Hageland wine. Prefer meat? Then I recommend a red wine, our red wines are really becoming top notch. Such as the Carduela from the Haksberg wine estate." For the enthusiasts, this is a full-bodied, wood-aged wine made from Dornfelder and Pinot Noir. Jasmina also enjoys tasting wines from so many other domains - Kluisberg, Den Eeckhout, Petrushoeve ....

Our tip? Book a wine package! You enjoy two overnight stays, a three-course menu with regional and seasonal products, and a filled picnic basket with a bottle of Hageland wine. Jasmina will be happy to help you find the most beautiful picnic spot. "Walk through the Tienbunderbos and the Kaaskorf towards the Houwaartseberg. A tough hike, but you'll be rewarded with stunning views. Sit down on the Houwaartse Wijnbank and enjoy the panorama over the vineyards and the village in the valley."
