Once a farmhouse brewery that delivered beer to the inn, on the edge of Gaasbeek Castle Park. Bob de Brouwer breathed new life into that brewing tradition. Besides lambic beers, he also brews specialty beers such as the tripel Rosten Uil and the summer beer Maurice 1929, a nod to his great-grandfather, 1929 Tour winner. Bob works with grain from local farmers, hops from the Order of the Green Bell and cherries from the region. The brewery's terrace is the perfect stop during the Wild Yeast Walk or a bike ride.

Story
In the folds of the Pajot slopes, near the triumphal arch of Napoleon in the Castle Park of Gaasbeek, lies a beautiful square farmstead. One with a rich beer history, as the farmstead was once home to farm brewery 't Guldenhooft, which has been on the map since 1694. Bob Huysman - aka Bob the Brewer - bought the then dilapidated farmstead and revived the brewing tradition.
Besides lambic beers like kriek and geuze, he also brews special beers like the tripel Rosten Uil, the Rosten Uil Barrel Aged and the fresh summer beer Maurice 1929. The latter beer is a tribute to his great-grandfather Maurice De Waele, who won the 1929 Tour de France.
Bob works as locally as possible: grain and cherries from local farmers and hops from the Order of the Green Bell. He also planted an orchard with 30 Schaarbeek cherry trees; just a little longer and they will produce their own cherries.
The farmhouse with its inviting terrace is also a unique place to stop during a walk or gravel ride through the region. There are also regular events, from tastings and team-buildings to private parties. Authentic heritage with modern comfort, and always with a good glass of beer at your fingertips.

Bob the Brewer is happy to take you behind the scenes, but by appointment only. Guided tours are possible for groups of 10 people or more.

Bar
Starting in spring, the brewery will open its doors on Friday and Sunday afternoons. You can enjoy a glass on the cozy terrace or in the tasting room. A brewery concert is traditionally scheduled on the first Friday of September.
