Where Rubens felt at home
Artist Peter Paul Rubens lived from 1635 to 1640 in Rubens Castle, a handsome estate with moat, neerhof and four acres of parkland. After restoration, it will reopen to the public in 2029.

On the Zenne stands the medieval Sluistoren, the only remnant of a large mill complex that did not survive the First World War. In Eppegem, 228 Belgian soldiers in the military cemetery commemorate this war. And for beautiful nature, head to the Bos van Aa, a protected paradise for butterflies, dragonflies and waterbirds, visitable only under escort.
