The Hof van Wambeek is a pearl of heritage in the village center where the De Troch family has been brewing beer since 1820. Brewer Pauwel Raes, his grandmother was a De Troch, inherited the passion for lambic as well as for experimentation. He ventures into surprising combinations with flavors such as banana and strawberry. In the summer, the meadow next to the brewery is transformed into a cozy summer bar. The ideal place to enjoy a fresh glass of lambic or a fruity surprise beer.

Story
What a history brewery De Troch has! It goes back to 30 July 1795, when Joannes Franciscus De Troch bought the Vroonhof of Wambeek. Beer was brewed by the family as early as 1820, and the knowledge was passed on from father to son or daughter. Brewer Pauwel Raes is also a descendant of De Troch, his grandmother was Magdalena De Troch. The brewing hall is still the same as the one Egidius De Troch had built between 1878 and 1885.
A special piece of industrial heritage where Pauwel dares to experiment. Brewery De Troch was the first lambic brewery to combine traditional geuze with fruity flavors such as banana, lime, pineapple, strawberry or peach. The classic lambic beers are sold under the name De Troch, the fruity and more accessible blends under the brand Chapeau.
Tasting? That's best done in the summer bar on the "Wei van Wammek," the meadow next to the brewery. Almost every summer weekend, the place is full of fun, tasting sessions and De Troch beers. The rest of the year you can visit one of the authentic pubs near the brewery for a fresh Geuze from De Troch.

A visit easily takes an hour. Brewer Pauwel is happy to let you taste among the barrels of maturing lambic.
